Simple 4-Step Process to Creating Your Vision

In an earlier post, I mentioned the importance of writing a personal vision and referred to Troy Hazard’s process for creating a vision that encompasses our full life, not just our business life.

Troy is our most in-demand franchise speaker and he makes this process simple by asking us to evaluate four key areas:

  • Personal Plan
  • Life Plan
  • Business Plan
  • People Plan

Each of these four key areas drive the next to fulfill its individual mission and ultimately the overall Vision.  Here are some key questions outlined in Troy’s bestselling book, Future-Proofing Your Business, that helped me get absolutely clear on where I was heading – in every area of my life.

Personal Plan:

What do I want to be when I group up?

What is really important to me?

What do I want to

represent?

What are my values?

What is my true purpose?

How do I propose to fulfill these things?

Life Plan:

What will be my legacy?

How does this online slots legacy apply to my family?

How does it relate to my personal purpose?

What can I do to help those close to

me with their journey to fulfill their purpose?

Troy teaches that once these first two sections are complete, now it’s time to move forward and keeping these top of mind, create your business plan based on your personal Vision.  Your Business Plan and People Plan will flow naturally and be in complete alignment with your Personal Plan and your Life Plan.

Having taken the time to deeply consider my Vision, write it down and review it regularly to be sure I’m staying on track, I can say that everything has shifted in my life.  It’s easier to make informed decisions based on what I now know to be truly important to me.  More clarity, less stress, and a lot more time dedicated to what I want in all areas of my life.  How good is that?

As Troy says,

“I run my business – and my life – it does not run me.”

Hope this is helpful.  It was literally life-changing for me.
